It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Die Cut & Colouring Team Designer Challenge

We're kicking off a new Die Cut and Colouring Team Designer Challenge on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog today.  For November it's all about featuring Joset Designs General Pop Up Dies. With the challenge in mind, I set out to create a fun It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Card that's perfect to give as a Christmas card. Make sure to read below as I have a tutorial for you so that you can re-create my It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Card at home. Read all the way down to the bottom of the post as I have some information on how to get in on a fabulous giveaway from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

From the Reindeer die, die cut the snowflake die five times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Set the snowflakes aside.

From the same die set, die cut two trees out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using a blending tool and foam at the bottom of each tree. Blend Peeled Paint Distress Ink using a blending tool and foam over the top portion of each tree.

Die cut the reindeer from the same set out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Lightly blend Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using a blending tool and foam overtop of the reindeer.

Die cut two small trees out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam, blend the ink overtop of each tree.

Die cut the large tree and small tree out of the back of the fly sheet found in the front of the Xmas Vintage Collection Patterned Paper Pack. Using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam, lightly blend the ink overtop of each tree.

The last die from the set you'll need to cut out is the hill looking die. You'll need to cut two hills out of a piece of the patterned paper from the Xmas Vintage Collection Patterned Paper Pack. Cut each hill down to 5". Ink the edges of each hill using a blending tool with foam and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Die cut the 3 3/4" Stitched Rectangle die out of patterned paper from the Xmas Vintage Collection Patterned Paper Pack. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangles using a blending tool with foam and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Die cut the 3 1/4" Stitched Rectangle die out of the back of the fly sheet found in the front of the Xmas Vintage Collection Patterned Paper Pack. Apply Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the "It's the Most Wonderful" sentiment and stamp onto the middle of the rectangle.  Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangles using a blending tool with foam and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5" x 10". Score at 5". Make sure the cardstock is still in half, place the 1/2" pop up die in the middle of the score line on the card. Place the 3/4" pop up die 3/4" from the right of the 1/2" pop up die. Run the dies through your die cutting machine. Take each die off of the card. Place the 3/4" pop up die 1" to the left of the 1/2" pop up die. Run the die through your die cutting machine. Take the die off. Open the card up and make sure the pop up portion pops up.

Cut a second piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5" x 10". Score at 5".

From the Xmas Vintage Collection Patterned Paper Pack, cut the following sizes of patterned paper:
- 5" x 5"
- 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"
- 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Distress the edges of each patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of each patterned paper piece using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Now it's time for assembling your card. Adhere the card with the pop ups to the inside of the plain White cardbase.

Adhere one of the hill pieces to the top portion of the card. Adhere the other hill piece to the bottom portion of the card.

Adhere the reindeer to the middle pop up. Adhere one of the trees to the left side pop up and adhere the other tree to the right side pop up. Foam square one of the small trees and adhere it behind the tree on the left hand side. Foam square the other small tree and adhere it behind the tree on the right hand side.

To finish off the tree scene, adhere nine snowflakes in amongst the trees. Adhere a Glitter Red/Gold Dot to the reindeer's nose.

Apply Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the Happy Holidays! sentiment and stamp the sentiment on the bottom portion of the card.

Adhere the 4 1/2" patterned paper piece to the 4 3/4" patterned paper piece. Adhere the 4 3/4" patterned paper piece to the 5" patterned paper piece.

Adhere the large tree an 1" to the left of the patterned paper. Adhere the small tree 1/4" to the right of the large tree. Adhere the "It's the Most Wonderful" sentiment to the patterned paper stitched rectangle. Foam square the patterned paper stitched rectangle 3/4" from the left hand side of the patterned paper.

Adhere snowflakes in the top right hand corner and bottom left hand corner of the sentiment rectangle.

To finish the card, adhere the cardfront to the front of the cardbase.
